PCA SERVICES

  • What are PCA Services?
    PCA services are in home services that provide assistance with activities of daily living to person with disabilities. Activities of daily living consist of tasks such as eating, bathing, grooming, toileting, light housekeeping, etc.
  • Do I qualify for PCA Services?
    Each program of service has different qualifications: EPSDT * Program designed for children ages 0-21 with disabilities. * Qualified persons might receive up to 28 hours per week. * To qualify, children must be on Medicaid. * To apply, contact Gloss Enterprise at 985-419-2430. Gloss has EPSDT packets in the office. LTPCS * Program offers assistance with activities of daily living to persons with disabilities ages 21 and up. * Qualified persons might receive up to 32 hours per week. * To qualify for this program, individuals must have Medicaid and must not make over $718 monthly. * To apply for this program, contact ACS at 1-877-456-1146. (Info req: medicaid #, ss#, mo. Income, dr. info) Community Choice Waiver * Program for persons with disabilities who make more than $718 month & have Medicaid &/or Medicare. * Qualified persons might receive up to 53 hours per week & there is a long waiting list for this program. * Persons on this program have a case management company who visit them on a quarterly basis. * To apply, contact ACS at 1-877-456-1146. ADHC Waiver * Program offers assistance to persons with disabilities who attend an adult day health care program. * Program is similar to LTPCS, but these persons have case management company (Quality, Easter Seals, ABC, Coastal, or Positive Precision) who visit them on a quarterly basis. * Qualified person might receive up to 26 hours a week. * To apply, contact ACS at 1-877-456-1146. Children’s Choice Waiver * Program for persons with disabilities ages 0-18 yrs. There is a waiting list for this program. * Qualified persons might receive up to 20 hours per week (flexible). * Persons on this program have a case management company who visit them on a quarterly basis. * To apply, contact Florida Parishes at 985-543-4730. ROW Waiver * Program for persons with certain disability types prior age 22. * Max hours received is a case-by-case determination. * Income limit is up to 3x SSI. Cannot be more than $2,000 for single or $3,000 for couple needing services. * To apply, contact Florida Parishes at 985-543-4730. NOW Waiver * Program for persons with certain disability types prior age 22 & there’s a long waiting list for this program. * Most of these clients receive 24 hour assistance. * Persons on this program have a case management company who visit them on a quarterly basis. * To apply, contact Florida Parishes at 985-543-4730. SIL Waiver * Program similar to NOW Waiver, except these clients usually do not have natural supports. * No cap on hours might receive, but does have a cap on $ amount. * Require monthly visits & weekly phone calls by Gloss Supervisors instead of minimum quarterly visits. * To apply, contact Florida Parishes at 985-543-4730. Supports Waiver * Program for persons with disabilities who are on the waiting list for the NOW or SIL Waiver services. * Qualified persons might receive up to 3 hours per week. * Persons on this program have a case management company. Florida Parishes Program * Florida Parishes might provide additional assistance to persons on waiver services * Qualified persons might receive up to 20 hours per month. VA * Program offers assistance to military veterans who need assistance with activities of daily living. * Qualified persons might receive up to 6 hours per week. * These persons are referred by the office of veteran’s assistance.
  • How do I sign up to receive PCA Services?
    When you call to apply for services, have ready your Medicaid #, social security #, monthly income, and doctor’s contact information. Contact ACS at 1-877-456-1146 to apply for programs LTPCS, CCW, or ADHC. Contact Florida Parishes at 985-543-4730 to apply for programs Children’s Choice, ROW, NOW, SIL, or SW. Contact Gloss Enterprise to apply for EPSDT services.
